7 Meaningful Gifts that People Actually Want

It’s that time of the year, where everyone is running around stores trying to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones. We spend so much time browsing stores, only to find nothing! The chaos makes the holidays feel less jolly and more hassle.

We all seem to have that person in our lives who returns every gift they’ve been given. Either they don’t like the style you picked or they won’t use the item you bought. It’s all a fail!

We want to help you this year by giving you a couple of ideas for meaningful gifts (that can’t be returned).

1. Experiences

For the person who has every gadget, clothing item, and toy, give the gift of experiences. This can be a dinner for two or a day at the driving range. Experiences are endless possibilities. Groupon is a great tool for finding new experiences in your area. You can search under different categories such as dinner, spas, or events.

2. Captured Memories

Giving a gift of memories can be tough, but with a little thought, it can go a long way. Photo albums aren’t as utilized nowadays with all our pictures being on our phones. Companies such as Chatbooks will collect the photos from your social sharing accounts and turn them into printed books. Another great idea is to turn your family memories into a children’s book.

3. Art

Meaningful art is one of the best gifts to give. Think about what means the most in their life – pets, children, friends, or significant others. One idea is called The Night Sky and it is a poster of what the stars looked like on a specific day, such as a wedding day, birth of a child, or a graduation day. Another idea is to create a canvas of their family or pet.

4. The Smell of Home

You may have seen these candles online, but we love this idea. Give the gift of nostalgia with this scented candle that smells like the state that they’re from. Homesick Candles are sentimental and under $30! There’s nothing like giving them the gift of home during the holidays.

5. A Family Photo Session

Get dressed in your nice clothes and grab the kids for a family photo session. You can either get the tripod ready to go or hire a professional photographer to pose you all. This is a gift that can be turned into a canvas print, 8×10 framed image, or a flat lay book.

6. Babysitting or Errand Running

If your friends haven’t had a night out in years, a great gift idea is to watch their children. They will feel like it is the best gift they can receive all holiday season. Even if they only get to go Christmas shopping in peace, they will love the time away. For those without children, a great idea is to run errands for them. Grocery pick-up, shipping out packages, or helping them wrap gifts.

7. Airbnb Giftcard

Give someone the gift of travel! Since traveling can be expensive with flights, rental cars, and dining, it would go a long way to give someone the gift of accommodations during travel. Airbnb has tons of different locations around the world, so you friends or family can choose where they would like to visit. If you don’t have much room in your house for relatives to stay, you can also give them the gift of a gorgeous house to stay in while they visit.
