Product Packaging with a Commercial Printer
The packaging of your products should never be an after thought. Consider this: it’s Christmas morning and all your gifts are wrapped in old, crinkly newspaper. Your sibling’s gifts are all wrapped in gold and white shiny wrapping paper with ribbons galore. Your first thought would be Wow, their gifts looks way nicer than mine. Even if the contents are exactly the same, the packaging of a product is crucial in the first impression. The goal is for the packaging of your product to excite consumers upon receiving the item.
Print Packaging Steps
When we work with companies to package their products, we first begin by discussing the unboxing experience. Do you want your customers to open a box from the top, the side, or the bottom? Opening the package is the first experience the consumer will have with your product. Making the packaging unappealing or difficult to open will cause them to be less excited about the overall product. You wouldn’t want a customers first words when opening your product to be “wow, that was annoying.” If the package is branded properly and is easy to understand, the consumer is likely going to be eager to get to the item inside.
The next step we discuss with clients needing packaging is the material. What type of packaging materials and finish make your product more appealing? If you are offering a product that you’d consider to be more luxurious or sleek, the packaging would need to reflect that. We would recommend a matte finish with unique foil printing and embossing. If the product was more youthful, we would suggest a gloss with bright colors on the packaging.
Lastly, we discuss with our clients how to distribute their products. Does the packaging need to be adhesive, left open, sealed, etc.? Depending on the product, the packaging may have different specifications. Our print facilities have the ability to package, seal, and mail your products to your clients. We would be happy to discuss these services with you! Contact us today for more information.
