Introducing the Art of Bookmaking
O’Neil Printing and Roswell Bookbinding have collaborated to create “The Art of Bookmaking,” a campaign intended to help designers produce beautiful books of fine art. With 150 years of combined experience, both O’Neil and Roswell put together the information and guidance needed for a creative designer to make their next art book project shine. Complete with a landing page, video overview and comprehensive reference book, this campaign aims to reach those who want to turn out a product that is both stunning and enduring.
The landing page for “The Art of Bookmaking”, artofbookmaking.com, brings you to a written and video overview of the Studio Handbook. The video begins with a brief history of what inspired the love and passion for books that O’Neil President, Anthony Narducci, and Roswell President, Mike Roswell, have. Both Anthony and Mike continue to explain their goal for this book, which was to create a reference for people who love books as much as they do to develop beautiful works of art.
Inside the Studio Handbook, you can find new options and ideas that you can share with your clients on each page. The stunning designs and images are explained with the printing techniques, finishes, bookbinding and gatefolds used. Not only that, but many of these same designs and images are shown using more than one combination of techniques for a page by page comparison. For example, you can see how one image would look as a duotone, tritone or quadtone, or how a single photo looks on different types of paper, just by turning to the next page.
